Julian Meaux

Julian Meaux provides drums and percussion for the Rock-It Sound Company.  A drummer for more than 20 years, Julian brings rock-solid timekeeping to the band.

Julian is an electrical technician / millwright and enjoys hunting, and fishing.

Jason Hovey

Jason Hovey served as the band’s lead guitar player from 2012-2014.   Jason is pursuing a career opportunity and has relocated to Houston, Texas.  A brilliant guitarist, Jason will be missed but  will continue to sit in with the band from time to time.

Steve Fergerson

It is with great sadness to announce that Steve passed away on January 3, 2025. Steve had contracted myelofibrosis and after having gone through a bone marrow transplant the summer of 2024 “Big Saxxy” lost his battle with cancer. We will never forget him.

Steve Fergerson plays Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bari saxes and flute with Rock-It and is the horn section arranger for the band. After graduating from Central High School and being named the first ever recipient of the Jazz Band Award, he went on to LSU to study music and served in the Golden Band from Tigerland as well as the LSU Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Symphony Orchestra, Saxophone Quartet and Jazz Ensemble.  While at LSU he was privileged to serve as back up for jazz greats Cat Anderson, Ted Curson, Bill Watrous, Gene Bertoncini, Vinnie DeMartino, Carl Fontana and Ellis Marcellus. He currently serves as a member of the Zoar Baptist Church praise band and in 2019 toured with the Louisiana Country Band and Gospel Quartet in Japan.  He has played in the local bands Steppin’ Out, The Other Side, Sentimental Journey, Platinum Sound Orchestra, In Need and The Carbon Copy Band. 

 

Alan Knight

Alan Knight has been drumming since junior high.  He is a veteran of the Baton Rouge music scene, having played in well known bands like Roadhouse, Argyle Friday and CRS.  Alan has played with such well known artists as Cody Teal, Stan Campbell, Chris LeBlanc and Warren Broussard.  As a member of CRS, Alan was in the backing band for many traveling musicians who played Baton Rouge on their tour.

Alan has been an automotive mechanic for most of his adult life. Alan and his wife, Tammra, have 10 children and 7 grandchildren, with more on the way!!
